The thing that worked was to set shell database to an empty string although the entries in /etc/shells were correct. I wonder what are the implications. I understand that roxen executes the specified shell on account of that user. So what happens if Roxen doesn't care about /etc/shells? Does it have an impact to security? If that is too tedious to explain it maybe you cauld just point the right direction to look for an answer.
