Hi! I use gtext all the time and thought I might be able to share some advice:

First, roxen uses special fonts. These reside in the local/nfonts directory of your roxen installation. If you look in this directory, you should be able to find what fonts you have installed.

The nfont name must be identified exactly, I think maybe even capitalization is important here.

Newer versions of roxen support TTF fonts, but I think your roxen has to be compiled to support it.
