Subject: Hard time with named ftp

Post:

Hello!

I am trying to set up named ftp asa a virtual server on Roxen Challenger 1.3 I get the following error when trying to log on as an user specially created for that purpose. By permissions the user has r-x access to directories and r-x to files. I get this error message:

< 530-You are not allowed to use named-ftp.
< 530 Try using anonymous, or check /etc/shells
! Invalid username or password for bender.nma.lv

I know the password is OK, because it gives different error if I type the wrong password. Pwd access method is file

Can someone wiser point me the right direction? The system is FreeBSD 3.4

I posted it in newbies area, but then I saw the last post was in 1999 so I decided to ask here as well.

Thanks
